Major Transportation Bridge/Highway Netting

Installation of bridge debris netting on the Pulaski Skyway during its rehabilitation and renovation by New Jersey Department of Transportation.FallProof was excited to have been given the opportunity to provide debris netting for the iconic Pulaski Skyway, which is currently undergoing a $2 Billion+ rehabilitation and renovation project. One of the primary traffic arteries into New York City, this project has many moving parts. Working with the New Jersey Department of Transportation and the general contractor awarded the project, we provided 115,000 square feet of our RocBloc netting product. This netting is specifically designed for bridge construction and rehabilitation applications such as the Pulaski project. In addition to the netting, we provided a turnkey solution to the contractor in the form of engineering, hardware, and delivery logistics in one complete package. On occasion, we also provided on-site supervisory guidance to the contractor/workers when requested.

Single Point Anchors for Fall Protection

Installation of anchor points atop mixing and chemical tanks for a Fortune 500 food processing company using steel or beam-trolley single-point anchors. We recently completed the supply and turnkey installation of about 75 single point anchor points for a major Fortune 500 food company. Our engineers conducted an initial walk-through of the plant with various safety supervisors, identifying all the possible areas of concern with regard to fall protection. It was identified that many of the workers completed their work on top of mixing and chemical tanks, which exposed them to a fall hazard.  Our crew supplied and installed the needed anchors, which consisted of concrete, steel or beam-trolley single-point anchor types. Our installation crew also supplied and hung the appropriate type of self-retracting lifeline with taglines, facilitating worker use and accessibility to the system. This simple but effective means of fall protection eliminated the need for horizontal lifelines throughout the complex, and instead, provided protection on an individual tank or area basis, greatly reducing cost.

Roof Edge Railings Installation

Custom engineered and fabricated roof edge rail systems on the rooftop for a defense and aerospace contractor. We recently completed the supply and installation of approximately 4,800 linear feet of non-penetrating rooftop safety railings for a major defense and aerospace contractor. Rooftop guardrails are quickly becoming the standard for providing roof edge safety at industrial facilities. This type of solution provides fall protection to workers who must access the roof on a frequent basis. This job consisted of many challenges to overcome, from security to the staging of material for 14 different building rooftops throughout the sprawling facility. This was a turnkey project that included providing engineering, material and the labor to complete the installation.

Fall Protection Inspection

Having completed the initial inspection and certification of the fall protection systems atop the spire and rings of One World Trade Center, FallProof was pleased to have been asked to perform this year’s annual inspection and re-certification of the fall protection systems. This inspection is certainly fraught with complex logistics, from height to building security. Trying to coordinate a fair-weather day with the building manager and activities also was a challenging endeavor. After completing the inspection, we provided the necessary third-party documentation to building management. Being asked to perform this inspection again was certainly one of the prouder moments we have had as a company (and yes, the view is fantastic from the top!).
